CIT Finance 1. Merger with First Citizens Bank:   CIT Group combined with First Citizens Bank in January 2022, forming one of the top 20 banks in the United States in terms of assets, with more than $100 billion. This merger brought together CIT's expertise in commercial lending, equipment financing, and railcar leasing with First Citizens' extensive retail banking and wealth management capabilities. Following the merger, CIT operates as a division of First Citizens, allowing the combined firm to offer a broader range of financial services to its consumers across the country. This has increased the institution's market presence tremendously. The merger also represents a significant shift in the US banking industry, with First Citizens consolidating its position as a key player by acquiring CIT's well-known commercial lending expertise, which includes small business, vendor finance, and middle-market services. The combined resources enable both firms to capitalize on the...

The most recent Tesla Model 3 is far quieter than previous models and has a much longer highway range : newsdaily500.blogspot.com

Welcome to Car and Driver's Testing Hub, where we focus on the test results. We've been pushing vehicles to their limits since 1956, providing objective statistics to back up our subjective perceptions. While the 2024 Model 3 lineup upgrades may appear to be a regular facelift, the "Highland" Model 3 is noticeably quieter on the road. We just tested a Long Range RWD variant, which averaged 67 decibels at 70 mph. That's three more than the previous Model 3 we examined, the 2019 Dual Motor Long Range. Much quieter than before. We used to use the Model 3 as an example of how not all electric vehicles are quiet, but that is no longer the case. Remember that the decibel scale is logarithmic, thus a 10 dBA rise or decrease results in a 100-fold difference in sound pressure. In practical terms, the difference between 70 and 67 dBA is a Ram 1500 TRX versus a Mercedes-Benz E-class, and it makes a big difference in how enjoyable it is to clock miles behind the wheel. The...

2025 Audi Q6 and SQ6 e-tron Get the Sleek Sportback Treatment The "coupe SUV" concept, which first appeared in the luxury crossover market during the 2000s, has gained popularity in the electric vehicle (EV) space. Its sleek, sloping roofline not only adds to the design appeal but also improves aerodynamics, potentially boosting range efficiency. Earlier this year, Audi introduced the Q6 e-tron, a compact electric crossover. Since Audi already offers fastback versions of its smaller Q4 e-tron and larger Q8 e-tron, it's no surprise they've now unveiled the Q6 e-tron Sportback, set to arrive in the U.S. next year. 2025 Audi Q6 and SQ6 e-tron Get the Sleek Sportback Treatment Sleek Q6 and SQ6 Variants The changes in the Q6 e-tron Sportback are primarily above the shoulder line. The redesigned roof is 1.4 inches lower, arching down towards the rear of the SUV and meeting a subtle lip spoiler with an integrated brake light. The rear remains largely unchanged from the regul...

How Japan's Shinkansen Bullet Trains Revolutionized Rail Travel Worldwide: newsdaily500.blogspot.com

How Japan's Shinkansen Bullet Trains Revolutionized Rail Travel Worldwide Sixty years ago, on the morning of October 1, 1964, a sleek blue and white train glided smoothly across Tokyo’s urban landscape on elevated tracks, heading south toward Osaka and securing its place in history. This marked the beginning of Japan’s "bullet train" era, a symbol of the nation’s remarkable recovery from the devastation of World War II. Alongside the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, this technological achievement signaled Japan’s reemergence as a global leader. Over the past six decades, the term Shinkansen, meaning “new trunk line,” has become synonymous worldwide with speed, travel efficiency, and modern innovation. Japan continues to lead the world in rail technology, with major conglomerates like Hitachi and Toshiba exporting billions of dollars in trains and equipment globally each year. Since the completion of the 320-mile Tokaido line connecting Tokyo and Shin-Osaka in 1964, the Shinkansen n...

Jimmy Carter is setting a new record for American presidents : newsdaily500.blogspot.com

Jimmy Carter is setting a new record for American presidents. On October 1, Jimmy Carter will make history as the first American president to turn 100 years old, marking a significant milestone. As more Americans are expected to reach this age in the coming years, it highlights a challenge the country's social safety net is not yet equipped to handle.  Carter's post-presidency started in 1981 after losing his re-election bid, when he was just 56—too young to qualify for Social Security and Medicare. A very long, incredible retirement Unlike other recent presidents who have spent their post-presidential years serving on corporate boards and earning money from speaking engagements, Jimmy Carter chose a different path. He immersed himself in hands-on work building homes, embarked on peace missions to places like Cuba and the Middle East, negotiated hostage releases, lived in his hometown, taught Sunday school and college courses, wrote books, and even won Grammy awards. Carter’...
